Bespoke training and career development are at the heart of our ambition; we aim to enhance your skills and provide you with access to leadership professionals, as you tell your story alongside ours.</p><p><em><strong>What awaits you?</strong></em></p><p>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Process, code and approve supplier invoices accurately and on time.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Match invoices to purchase orders and goods received documentation where applicable.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, supplier queries and account issues.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Maintain accurate supplier records, supporting documentation and master database information.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Assist with weekly and monthly payment runs, ensuring supplier statements are reconciled and differences are resolved promptly.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Monitor aged creditor balances and escalate issues where required.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Run weekly purchase ledger analysis to monitor processing targets and identify shortfalls.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Ensure all financial processes comply with Company policies, internal controls and audit requirements.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Maintain accurate audit trails and supporting documentation for purchase ledger transactions.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Support month-end activities, including accruals, reconciliations and ledger reviews.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Prepare reports, analysis and audit information as required by the Finance Manager or Finance Supervisor.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Build positive relationships with suppliers, colleagues and third-party partners, providing a high standard of customer service.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Liaise with stores and departments to resolve invoice and payment issues efficiently.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls, systems and departmental projects.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Contribute positively to the ongoing development of the Finance team and wider business</p><p><em><strong>The Perfect Person We are Looking For:</strong></em></p><p>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Previous experience in accounts payable, purchase ledger or finance administration, including supplier statement reconciliations and payment processing.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills, with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications, with experience of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar ERP systems.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Professional, positive and proactive approach, with strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and experience working within a multi-site retail environment.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;AAT qualified or currently studying towards an accountancy qualification.</p><p><strong><em>Why Join us at Laings?</em></strong></p><p>We offer you an attractive package commensurate with experience, competitive salary and team commission structure.
