Founded in 1985 in Chester, Tessuti grew into a respected UK retailer of premium menswear, womenswear, and kidswear. It brought designer labels—such as Stone Island, Ralph Lauren, and Moose Knuckles—to regional high streets through stores in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Chester, and more. Acquired by Frasers Group in late 2022, the brand faced significant restructuring with many stores closed following the takeover. By 2025, a number of branches—such as those in Meadowhall Sheffield and Belfast—had been permanently shut amid broader retail challenges. The Tessuti website was redirected to Flannels, and physical locations gave way to the newly developed Frasers retail format. Though its stores have largely vanished, Tessuti’s legacy remains as an upscale, multi-brand fashion destination that played a notable role in expanding designer fashion access beyond core metropolitan areas.
