People are at the heart of our business, and we are committed to investing in our staff to help shape an extraordinary future.</p><p>As a result of our continued growth and ongoing success, we are seeking a dynamic New Business Development Manager to be based at our London Great Portland Street Office.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>About the Role:</strong></p><p>We are looking for a commercially driven New Business Development Manager to help grow our Marketplace by identifying, acquiring and launching new third-party sellers and brands. Reporting to the Head of Marketplace, you will lead a team of business development professionals, build a strong pipeline of opportunities and secure partnerships that expand product choice, close range gaps and drive profitable growth across our retail brands. As a key member of the Marketplace leadership team, you will combine strategic thinking, relationship-building and commercial expertise to deliver long-term success.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><span><ul><li>Own seller acquisition across allocated marketplace categories, identifying and securing new sellers, brands and strategic partners to support business growth.</li><li>Define acquisition priorities using customer demand, search trends, competitor analysis and commercial objectives.</li><li>Build, manage and maintain a high-quality pipeline of prospective sellers and brands, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.</li><li>Lead commercial negotiations, agreeing commission structures, fees and commercial terms that deliver value for both the business and partners.</li><li>Identify and address range gaps, category opportunities and brand partnerships to strengthen the overall customer proposition.</li><li>Lead, coach and develop a team of New Business Leads and Executives, creating a high-performing and results-driven culture.</li><li>Deliver agreed targets for new seller acquisition, live SKUs and incremental GMV growth.</li><li>Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and successful launch of new marketplace partners.</li><li>Ensure all prospective sellers complete the necessary compliance, legal and due diligence requirements before trading.</li><li>Build strong relationships with external partners, including brands, agencies, marketplace integrators and industry bodies.</li><li>Represent the marketplace at industry events, trade shows and networking opportunities to identify and attract new business opportunities.</li><li>Contribute market insights, competitor intelligence and pipeline visibility to support wider marketplace strategy and decision-making.</li></ul></span><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Person Specification:</strong></p><p>Essential</p><span><ul><li>Proven experience in business development, seller acquisition, partnership management or commercial sales within an eCommerce, marketplace or retail environment.</li><li>Demonstrable success in identifying, negotiating and securing new business opportunities and commercial partnerships.</li><li>Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing sales or business development teams.</li><li>Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate contracts, commission structures and commercial terms.</li><li>Experience managing a high-volume sales pipeline and using CRM systems to forecast and track performance.</li><li>Ability to analyse customer, market and competitor data to identify growth opportunities and prioritise activity.</li><li>Excellent relationship-building, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.</li><li>Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Customer-focused, commercially minded and driven by achieving growth targets.</li><li>Resilient, proactive and able to maintain momentum through long sales cycles and changing business priorities.</li></ul></span><p>Desired</p><span><ul><li>Experience working within an online marketplace environment.</li><li>Understanding of marketplace economics, seller acquisition strategies and third-party seller ecosystems.</li><li>Experience within a multi-brand retail business.</li><li>Knowledge of category management, digital trading or merchandising principles.</li><li>Experience developing strategic brand partnerships and joint growth initiatives.</li><li>Familiarity with seller onboarding, compliance and due diligence processes.</li><li>Experience representing a business at trade shows, industry events or networking functions.</li><li>Knowledge of marketplace integrators, agencies and channel partners.</li></ul></span><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What we offer:</strong></p><span><ul><li>Competitive salary</li><li>Pension</li><li>Long service awards</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Cycle to work scheme</li></ul></span><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Position: </strong>Permanent, Full-time</p><p><strong>Hours: </strong>Monday – Friday, 08:45am – 17:30pm.</p><p><strong>Location: </strong>London &amp; Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite.</p></div><div class="row" style="margin-top: 5vh;"><div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-4 col-sm-offset-4">
