People are at the heart of our business, and we are committed to investing in our staff to help shape an extraordinary future.</p><p>As a result of our continued growth and ongoing success, we are seeking a dynamic Compliance Manager to be based at our London Great Portland Street Office.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>About the Role:</strong></p><p>We are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to ensure our Marketplace operates safely, legally and in line with company standards. Reporting to the Head of Marketplace, you will oversee seller and product compliance across The Range, Homebase, Wilko and Bathstore, managing compliance frameworks, seller due diligence and regulatory obligations. Acting as a key member of the Marketplace leadership team, you will help protect customers, sellers and the business while enabling sustainable marketplace growth.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><span><ul><li>Develop, maintain and implement the marketplace compliance framework, including policies, standards and controls.</li><li>Lead seller onboarding, verification and due diligence processes, ensuring all sellers meet required standards before trading.</li><li>Define and enforce policies relating to restricted and prohibited products, taking appropriate action where breaches occur.</li><li>Monitor marketplace listings, pricing claims, reviews and seller conduct to identify and address compliance risks.</li><li>Work with Finance and relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with VAT, platform reporting and other regulatory requirements.</li><li>Maintain and manage the marketplace risk register, ensuring risks are identified, assessed and mitigated appropriately.</li><li>Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on marketplace operations, policies and procedures.</li><li>Manage investigations, enforcement actions, seller remediation plans and compliance escalations.</li><li>Maintain accurate compliance records, policies, audit trails and documentation to support internal and external reviews.</li><li>Work closely with Legal, Finance, Data Protection and Marketplace teams to ensure compliance requirements are understood and implemented.</li><li>Provide guidance on the compliance implications of new sellers, product categories, advertising activity and marketplace developments.</li><li>Act as a key point of contact for external stakeholders, including sellers, platform providers and regulatory bodies.</li></ul></span><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Person Specification:</strong></p><p>Essential</p><span><ul><li>Proven experience in compliance, regulatory risk, trust and safety, or governance within an eCommerce, marketplace, retail or digital platform environment.</li><li>Strong knowledge of UK consumer protection legislation, marketplace regulations and compliance requirements.</li><li>Experience assessing, managing and mitigating compliance and operational risks.</li><li>Experience conducting investigations, managing enforcement actions and making evidence-based decisions.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong understanding of seller verification, due diligence and compliance monitoring processes.</li><li>Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accurate record keeping.</li><li>Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge, influence and hold others accountable.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory requirements clearly to a range of audiences.</li><li>Ability to balance compliance requirements with commercial objectives and business growth.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing risks.</li></ul></span><p>Desired</p><span><ul><li>Experience working within an online marketplace environment.</li><li>Knowledge of VAT obligations, digital platform reporting requirements and seller taxation considerations.</li><li>Experience working with Trading Standards, regulatory bodies or external auditors.</li><li>Understanding product compliance, advertising standards and data protection requirements.</li><li>Experience developing compliance frameworks, policies and governance processes.</li><li>Familiarity with risk management frameworks and compliance monitoring tools.</li><li>Experience supporting fast-growing eCommerce, retail or technology businesses.</li><li>Relevant compliance, risk management or governance qualifications.</li></ul></span><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What we offer:</strong></p><span><ul><li>Competitive salary</li><li>Pension</li><li>Long service awards</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Cycle to work scheme</li></ul></span><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Position: </strong>Permanent, Full-time</p><p><strong>Hours: </strong>Monday – Friday, 08:45am – 17:30pm.</p><p><strong>Location: </strong>London &amp; Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite.</p></div><div class="row" style="margin-top: 5vh;"><div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-4 col-sm-offset-4">
