Can you listen, care and help?</p><p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em; padding: 0px;"><br></p><p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em; padding: 0px;">The Street Pastors are recruiting for more volunteers to join their team making a real difference, every shift.</p><p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em; padding: 0px;"><br></p><p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em; padding: 0px;">Working in small teams, you will patrol Nottingham City Centre on Friday and Saturday nights between the hours of 10pm to 3am, offering practical, non-judgemental and compassionate help to the vulnerable and those in need of assistance. The Street Pastors provide invaluable support to door staff, the Police and other emergency services and are a well-respected, valued part of the night-time response team.</p><p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em; padding: 0px;"><br></p><p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em; padding: 0px;">As a Street Pastor, you will hand out preventative supplies such as water, lollipops and flip flops and provide emergency first-aid when someone’s night out takes a turn for the worst. You will ensure people get home safely, provide a listening ear and signpost people for help and support with 3<sup>rd</sup> parties where appropriate.</p><p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em; padding: 0px;"><br></p><p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em; padding: 0px;">The Street Pastors are based out of the Malt Cross in Nottingham City Centre which acts as the base, you will meet here before heading out each shift. We also provide lots of opportunities to meet up with the entire Street Pastor team to provide training, support and social opportunities to continue your development and enjoyment of volunteering. We would ask that you commit to at least 1 shift per month. </p><p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em; padding: 0px;"><br></p><p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em; padding: 0px;">Due to the nature of the project, in order to join the Street Pastors, you need to be over 18, be a practicing Christian and have positive reference from the leader of your church. We follow rigorous <strong style="box-sizing: inherit; background-repeat: no-repeat; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; font-weight: bolder;">safer recruitment processes</strong> to ensure the protection of children, young people, and adults at risk.
