<p>We are looking to recruit a full time Transport Manager at our distribution centre in Cumbernauld. </p><p><strong>Pay, working hours & benefits:</strong></p><p>We offer a permanent full time position 45 hours per week, any 5 days from 7. </p><p> Salary - £48,310.44</p><p><strong>In addition to your pay you will also benefit from:</strong></p><p>- 30 days annual leave.</p><p>- Full training provided.</p><p>- Free canteen facilities.</p><p>- 15% staff discount to use in any of our 300+ shops on a great range of food and household essentials.</p><p>- A smart uniform and all PPE provided at no cost to you.</p><p>- Free life assurance.</p><p>- Workplace pension.</p><p><strong>As Transport Manager you will lead your team to: </strong></p><p>- Monitor all delivery runs, ensuring that drivers are making deliveries on time and communicate with stores regarding any delays.</p><p>- Plan loads for the following days’ work, ensuring that your fleet is used as fully and efficiently as possible.</p><p>- Address performance issues or training needs.</p><p>- Plan, manage and adjust staffing levels to meet operational requirements.</p><p>- Have excellent attention to detail with very strong compliance in both running/managing the fleet and tachograph management.</p><p>- Accident management and investigation.</p><p>- Liaise with the wider team at the depot to ensure that operational requirements are met.</p><p>- Issue progress updates to all appropriate persons. Where necessary provide detail regarding usage of kit and confirming that stores have been notified of time changes.</p><p>- Providing a safe working environment for all by adhering to H&S procedures and ensuring they are understood and practised by the team.</p><p>- Ensuring compliance of Standard Operational Procedures (SOP’s) and ensuring the department continuously achieves a high level of customer focus & service.</p><p><strong>You will need:</strong></p><p>- To be a good all round communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills.</p><p>- Assertiveness, prepared to see through plans and overcome obstacles.</p><p>- Managing absence and personnel matters.</p><p>- Strong planning and organisational skills.</p><p>- A friendly, positive, hard working approach to work.</p><p>- Experience of working in a Transport environment.</p><p>- Knowledge of UK geography and road network.</p><p>- Experience of using a (Transport Management System) TMS.</p><p>- A proven track record of cost savings, productivity costs, quality control and error reduction.</p><p>- Excellent team building, leadership and motivational skills.</p><p>- Flexibility to work various shift patterns in response to customer demand.</p><p>- A Transport Manager CPC. </p><p><strong>- A HGV Licence is desirable not essential.</strong></p><p><strong>A bit about us:</strong></p><p>Farmfoods are a family business with ambition.
