<h3 class="theme-panel-header text-2xl pb-6 theme-vacancy-section-title">About the role</h3><p>You will lead the social media, PR and influencer strategy and execution for the Matalan business, shaping how the brand shows up across every major platform. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for building a distinctive, emotionally engaging brand presence that reconnects with customers, drives consideration and supports ambitious business growth plans.</p><p>As Head of Social PR & Influencer, you will define and deliver the long-term creative and strategic vision across social media, PR and influencer marketing. You will combine creative instinct with commercial thinking to build a social-first brand presence that drives engagement, relevance and market share growth.</p><p> </p><p>Working closely with brand, digital and content teams, you will lead the development of integrated campaigns, oversee influencer partnerships and agency relationships, and ensure Matalan remains culturally relevant across platforms including Meta, TikTok and YouTube.</p><p>This role requires a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys experimentation and innovation, and can inspire both teams and stakeholders through clear strategic direction.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Strategy & Brand Growth</li><li>Own and lead the social media, PR and influencer strategy across all key platforms</li><li>Define the long-term creative direction and content architecture for the brand</li><li>Build a social-first brand presence that drives consideration, engagement and customer intent</li><li>Lead seasonal activations and integrated campaigns alongside wider marketing and content teams</li><li>Oversee influencer strategy and execution, including partnerships, negotiations, contracts and campaign delivery</li><li>Manage and optimise social, PR and influencer budgets, identifying opportunities for innovation and growth</li><li>Team Leadership</li><li>Lead, develop and inspire a multi-disciplinary team across social media, PR and influencer marketing</li><li>Create a collaborative and creative environment where innovation and experimentation are encouraged</li><li>Develop team capability and champion best practice across the business</li><li>Manage external agencies and partners to deliver impactful, ownable campaigns and brand moments</li><li>Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration</li><li>Act as the subject matter expert and thought leader for social, PR and influencer activity across the business</li><li>Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams</li><li>Work closely with digital and insight teams to identify platform opportunities and evaluate campaign performance</li><li>Deliver regular reporting and insights on campaign effectiveness, audience engagement and brand impact</li><li>Monitor competitors, trends and cultural moments to identify opportunities for the brand</li></ul><div class="absolute bottom-2 right-2"><button onclick="scrollToTop()" class="theme-primary p-2 rounded-lg flex"> <i translate="no" class="material-symbols-outlined"> arrow_upward </i> </button></div>
