Howdens is recruiting for an Inbound Logistics Planner to join our Supply Planning team. Based within a fast-paced and collaborative environment, this role plays a key part in keeping our inbound supply chain running smoothly across multiple sites.Location | Howden, East YorkshireContract | Full-time, permanentReporting to | Inbound Freight Manager Why join Howdens as an Inbound Logistics Planner:Howdens Joinery is the UK’s number one trade kitchen supplier, with an extensive network of depots and manufacturing sites supporting over 460,000 trade professionals.You’ll be joining a business that continues to invest in its supply chain and operations, giving you the opportunity to play a meaningful role in how we receive, manage, and move stock across the organisation.<ul><li>Be part of a team managing a high-volume, global inbound network across multiple countries and transport modes </li><li>Work in a role that’s central to maintaining an efficient, resilient supply chain, especially within customs and Ex Works operations </li><li>Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across logistics, manufacturing, and category teams</li><li>Develop your skills in SAP, customs processes, and supply chain planning within a busy, supportive team</li><li>Gain exposure to end-to-end inbound logistics operations, working with freight partners, suppliers, and site teams</li></ul>What will you be doing as an Inbound Logistics Planner:<ul><li>Planning and coordinating inbound deliveries into multiple PDC locations to ensure a consistent and efficient flow of goods </li><li>Working closely with freight partners and suppliers to schedule and manage inbound bookings</li><li>Managing delivery documentation and customs paperwork, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely system input</li><li>Inputting and maintaining accurate delivery data within SAP</li><li>Acting as a key point of contact for suppliers, resolving booking slot queries and managing changes</li><li>Liaising with site logistics and receiving teams to align on capacity, scheduling, and operational processes</li><li>Monitoring supplier compliance against delivery slots and escalating issues where required</li><li>Supporting inbound forecasting and helping to balance capacity, cost, and service levels</li><li>Working cross-functionally with Supply Planning, Category, Manufacturing, and site teams</li><li>Handling a high-volume workload, including hundreds of weekly deliveries and booking slots across multiple sites and countries </li></ul>What do you need to qualify for the Inbound Logistics Planner:We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-focused environment.<ul><li>A natural problem solver, with the ability to find solutions in a constantly changing supply chain environment</li><li>Experience working within a logistics, supply chain, or planning role</li><li>Working knowledge of SAP and experience managing or inputting logistics data</li><li>Understanding of customs clearance processes and associated documentation</li><li>Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands</li><li>Confident communicator, able to build relationships with suppliers, freight partners, and internal stakeholders</li><li>High attention to detail, particularly when managing documentation and compliance requirements</li><li>Comfortable making decisions that balance service, cost, and operational constraints</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively across teams while also managing your own workload</li></ul>What we can offer:<ul><li>Competitive salary and bonus scheme</li><li>Excellent pension scheme with company contribution up to 12%</li><li>Free daily meal at the on-site canteen</li><li>25 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy additional days</li><li>Share save scheme</li><li>Reward and recognition events</li></ul>About Howdens:Howdens Joinery is the UK’s number one trade kitchen supplier providing thousands of products across kitchens, joinery, and hardware.
