<p>We are looking to recruit a <strong>Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice</strong> at our <strong>Blairlinn&nbsp;(Cumbernauld) Distribution Centre</strong>.</p><p>We offer a permanent full time position working shifts between the hours of 08:00am – 16:30pm, Mon-Fri each week (with occasional weekend work included).&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Pay, working hours &amp; benefits:</strong></p><p>We offer a competitive hourly pay rate which will increase each year on the programme and you will be guaranteed a minimum of 40 hours work per week.</p><ul><li>Mec 1 - £7.55 per hour&nbsp;(First year / 16 &amp; 17 year olds)</li><li>Mec 2 - £10.00&nbsp;per hour&nbsp;(Second year / 18 to 20 year olds in place for 2 years)</li><li>Mec 3 - £12.21&nbsp;per hour&nbsp;(Third year)</li><li>Mec 4 - £15.00&nbsp;per hour (Fourth year)</li><li>Fully qualified after fourth year - £21.74&nbsp;per hour</li></ul><p>In addition to your pay you will also benefit from:</p><p>- 30 days annual leave.</p><p>- Full training provided.</p><p>- Free canteen facilities.</p><p>- 15% staff discount to use in any of our 340+ shops on a great range of food and household essentials.</p><p>- A smart uniform and all PPE provided at no cost to you.</p><p>- Free life assurance.</p><p>- Workplace pension.</p><p><strong>The Apprenticeship:</strong></p><p>As a HGV Technician Apprentice, you will receive practical training and instruction whilst assisting our workshop staff in the day-to-day running of the workshop, and will work towards the provision of a well-maintained internal vehicle fleet.&nbsp; You will learn about servicing, inspections, fault finding, diagnostic work and the removal, repair and replacement of components and technology in our workshops.&nbsp;</p><p>The apprenticeship will last a total of four years.&nbsp; You will spend three years completing an HGV Technician course and upon successful completion will gain an S/NVQ level three qualification.&nbsp; You will be required to attend college on a block release basis, as part of the course and will spend the remainder of your time gaining practical skills in our workshops.&nbsp; The fourth year of your apprenticeship will be spent working full time in our workshop gaining valuable experience.</p><p>Your development will be ongoing during the apprenticeship and could lead to specialised training and qualifications in the following areas: fridge technician, f-gas handling and tail lift inspection.</p><p><strong>About You:</strong></p><p>We are looking for a committed, highly motivated and above all else passionate person who has the drive and ambition to succeed. &nbsp;At Farmfoods we offer you a career, not just a job and we want to give you the opportunity to become the very best.</p><p><strong>A bit about us:</strong></p><p>Farmfoods are a family business with ambition.
