We’re proud to have won national awards including Best UK Workplace 2023, Best UK Workplace for Women 2023 and Excellence in Wellbeing awards 2023.<br> <br>We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our West Hagley store.<br> <br>Reporting to the Site Operations Manager you’ll ensure the smooth day to day running of the West Hagley store, including duty manager responsibilities.<br> <br>This is a varied and challenging role with wide-ranging duties including but not limited to:<ul><li>Lead and manage direct reports and the teams, ensuring that they exercise their responsibilities in full.</li><li>Interviews for new candidates, liaise with HR regarding recruitment and new starters, staff reviews and development.</li><li>Ensure all store processes and procedures are followed and deliver follow up training if required.</li><li>Assist with achieving strong sales, service and profit margin targets and effectively running the store in the Store Manager’s absence.</li><li>Promote high level of retail standards, ensuring signage is accurate and seasonal displays are turned round in a timely manner.</li><li>Support the team operationally with stock management, customer service.</li><li>Ensuring the store is on brand, well-stocked with inspirational, shoppable displays and accurate point of sale. With particular focus on the giftware, leisure and seasonal departments.</li><li>Administering systems accurately, including our time and attendance and EPOS systems.</li><li>Responding to escalated customer complaints by email, letter and telephone.</li></ul> <br>To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate a strong track record of achieving sales and effectively managing people in a retail setting. A high street background would be a distinct advantage.<br> <br>This is a full time and permanent position, working on average 39.5 hours per week on a 2 week rota. This involves working 4 weekdays plus every alternate weekend (you would work 4 days one week and have one weekday plus the weekend off, then you work 6 days the following week, including both weekend days).<br> <br>Person specification<ul><li>Strong experience of effectively leading, managing and motivating a team and individuals.</li><li>A passion for spotting, driving talent and creating a successful team culture.</li><li>Strong coaching skills. Must be able to give feedback to ensure common ways of working.</li><li>Experience of large format store management with high turnover, ideally at a high-quality positioned retailer.</li><li>IT literate in office and working knowledge of EPOS systems. Tech savvy is a major plus.</li><li>The ability to influence, listen and understand the external perspective to inspire and think broadly about new ways of doing things.</li><li>Ability to resolve challenges and build trust between the full store team.</li><li>Set clear objectives that link directly to each department, which are aligned with Webbs overall business objectives and brand values.</li><li>Have the power to create a culture that fosters and values collaboration.</li><li>Broad thinking and willingness to accept opinions, beliefs or behaviours that are different from your own.</li><li>Understands the dynamics of working for a fast-paced family-owned business that has a heritage brand, in a modern age, and strong community ties.</li></ul> <br>Remuneration:<ul><li>Salary is up to £28,000.00 to £30,000.00 depending on experience.</li><li>Standard working week 39.5 hours.
