People are at the heart of our retail concept, and we want to invest in our staff and make the future extraordinary.</p><p> </p><p>As a result of our expansion plans, and our continued ongoing success we are seeking a dynamic New Business Lead within our Marketplace team, to be based at our Head Office in Plymouth.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Role Overview:</strong></p><p>The New Business Lead will play a crucial role in expanding The Range Marketplace by identifying, recruiting, and onboarding new sellers. This role is responsible for sourcing sellers whose product offerings align with the platform’s key and expanding categories, customer expectations, and long-term strategic objectives. Possessing strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of Marketplace dynamics, enabling the assessment of seller potential and the facilitation of a smooth onboarding process. In addition to building a robust pipeline of sellers, the New Business Lead will work closely with wider areas of the business to ensure new sellers are set up for long-term success, contributing to assortment growth, customer satisfaction, and the overall strength and performance of the Marketplace. You will report directly to the Marketplace Manager.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p>You will be required to:</p><span><ul><li>Identify and recruit new sellers across high-priority categories, in alignment with The Range Marketplace strategy.</li><li>Develop and execute acquisition strategies to meet growth targets for new business.</li><li>Lead seller acquisition initiatives to identify and onboard potential sellers.</li><li>Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and trends.</li><li>Collaborate with the Marketplace Manager to identify target categories or segments that require increased seller representation or offer significant growth potential.</li><li>Conduct thorough seller vetting and in-house compliance checks to ensure alignment with company standards.</li><li>Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory compliance requirements throughout the seller vetting and onboarding process.</li><li>Provide dedicated support to sellers during the sign-up and introductory phase, facilitating a smooth onboarding experience.</li><li>Identify, prioritise and expedite new key leads in line with the business strategy.</li><li>Offer ongoing seller support during the initial 4–6-month introduction period to ensure successful integration, embedding the start of good relations and understanding of our processes and expectations.</li><li>Facilitate a smooth transition of sellers from introduction phase through to the Seller Account Management team, highlighting any key sellers, and performance indicators.</li><li>Manage product onboarding processes ensuring accurate and timely product listings.</li><li>Represent the company at trade shows and webinars to promote the platform and engage with prospective sellers.</li><li>Develop and pitch value propositions to prospective sellers, highlighting the benefits of joining The Range Marketplace. </li><li>Build and manage a robust pipeline of potential sellers, tracking progress from initial contact through to successful onboarding.</li><li>Manage the full sales cycle: lead generation, outreach, pitching, negotiation, and contract closure.</li><li>Track and report KPIs, including acquisition numbers, seller performance, and revenue growth from new accounts.</li><li>Produce and analyse regular reports to guide decision-making and performance tracking.</li><li>Deliver training and onboarding sessions to new sellers to ensure successful integration.</li><li>Utilise Zendesk to manage and resolve seller enquiries, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.</li><li>Collaborate with marketing to create campaigns and materials that support seller acquisition and new seller launches.</li><li>Lead and manage team members to drive performance, provide mentorship, and support professional development.</li><li>Work closely with your direct reports to ensure robust processes are in place to enable a smooth introductory period for new sellers, continuously refining processes to align with evolving business needs.</li></ul></span><p> </p><p><strong>Essential & Preferred Skills & Requirements</strong></p><span><ul><li>Proven experience (3–5+ years) in business development, sales, or partner acquisition within a marketplace, e-commerce, or digital platform.</li><li>Ability to identify and act on commercial opportunities.</li><li>A degree is preferred but not essential, however you will have strong written, numerical and analytical skills.</li><li>Strong commercial understanding, being able to demonstrate knowledge of and an interest in retail and on-line selling.</li><li>Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively pitch to different sellers.</li><li>Experience with seller onboarding and familiarity with marketplace ecosystems is a plus.</li><li>Confident with Microsoft Excel and capable of working with formulas and graphs.</li><li>Interpersonal and excellent communication skills are priority.</li><li>You will be committed and confident with strong administrative, organisational and prioritisation skills.</li><li>A professional and respectful team player.</li><li>Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.</li></ul></span><p> </p><p><strong>Position: </strong>Permanent, Full-time, In-Office.</p><p><strong>Hours:</strong> Monday – Friday, 08:45am – 17:30pm.</p><p><strong>Location: </strong>Plymouth, Devon</p><p><strong>Salary:</strong> Competitive Salary</p><p> </p></div><div class="row" style="margin-top: 5vh;"><div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-4 col-sm-offset-4">
