<p><strong>What is the role </strong></p><p>We have an exciting opportunity for students studying a relevant Fashion degree to join us for a placement year starting July 2026 for one year. The role will be varied with the opportunity to experience a busy, growing, fashion retail head office. The role will support the department with effective management of the department administration and gain a knowledge, understanding and first-hand experience to help put theory into practice.</p><p>Current placement opportunities will suit individuals interested in the following areas:</p><ul><li>Buying</li><li>Merchandising</li><li>Garment Technology</li><li>Print Design</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>What you will do </strong></p><p><strong>Buying </strong></p><ul><li>Communicate with suppliers and internal departments effectively</li><li>Ensure all samples are correctly presented, stored and ordered in accordance with departmental procedures, on a day to day basis and for all relevant meetings</li><li>Maintain all administration documentation procedures accurately in line with Critical Path requirements</li><li>Collate and distribute the post and parcels for the Buying team daily</li><li>Contribute towards the input of all meeting preparation including Monday Trade & Product Sign Offs</li></ul><p><strong>Merchandising </strong></p><ul><li>Assist the team in inputting orders into the central data base as they are raised</li><li>Set up new order codes</li><li>Create ratios for new orders after reviewing sales history</li><li>Review weekly Line Print making suggestions for stock movements and reordering opportunities in reaction to performance</li><li>Assist with Flow Line monitoring to ensure that we are never out of stock on these volume selling styles</li><li>Preparation of data and information for Range building meetings</li><li>Critical path monitoring and updating</li><li>Inputting Markdowns and POS promotions onto the tills & the website</li></ul><p><strong>Garment Technology</strong></p><ul><li>Support the Garment Technology team in producing an accurate sample development process to ensure on time delivery and a commercial range.</li><li>Understand and contribute towards brand and product handwriting, review competitor activity (retail & online) and visit stores.</li><li>Work to the company critical path to ensure deadlines are met.</li><li>Work with Garment Technology team to take joint responsibility for fit and quality, ensuring samples and workbooks are prepared for weekly fit sessions.</li><li>Manage the workbook for each product, ensuring garments are measured accurately and in the same way the suppliers are measuring.</li><li>Review fit samples to ensure they are fit for production and work closely with suppliers to solve any potential problems that could affect delivery.</li><li>Ensure fabric and components performs satisfactorily and pass required tests.</li><li>Organise wearer trials on new products where necessary.</li><li>Grade garments to fit all sizes and approve to production.</li><li>Assist with the QC process. Preparing workbooks prior to delivery ready for Warehouse QC checking.</li><li>Communicate clearly to Buying/Garment Tech, Merchandising and Warehouse QC team in a timely manner and potential quality issues.</li></ul><p><strong>Print Design </strong></p><ul><li>Analysis of 3rd party trend information including a monthly online comp shop.</li><li>Contribute and support with administrative tasks, including recolouring existing prints, helping with art working / tech files for prints.</li><li>Responsible for designing in house print artwork, creating both placement and all over print designs in conjunction with the Print designer</li><li>Creating print design in repeat, scale and with Pantone colour references</li><li>Amending purchased or supply base prints to fit into Yours trends and colour palettes</li><li>Ability to working to a given design brief by the Buying team</li><li>Able to work at a fast-pace and adapt to change</li><li>Liaise with other team members to ensure effective communication.</li><li>Take responsibility for personal development and actively seek opportunities for improvement</li><li>Managing workload and prioritising projects</li><li>Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>What you will bring </strong></p><ul><li>A passion for fashion particularly in the nonstandard sizing market</li><li>Good communication skills both verbal and written</li><li>The ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative</li><li>Good time management & organisational skills</li><li>A self-motivated and proactive approach to completing given tasks</li><li>A willingness to learn & the ability to work under pressure</li><li>Good attention to detail</li><li>A commercial outlook and a keen business sense</li><li>A proven record of good attendance & flexibility</li><li>The ability to adapt to frequent change in a high pressure environment</li><li>Commitment to behaving with integrity and professionalism at all times</li><li>A proven history of taking personal responsibility & accountability for actions, constantly striving to improve and exceed expectations and ensuring safety and quality are never compromised.</li></ul>
