<div class="clearfix"></div><h1 class="job-title axiom0-0 axiom-scraped-0">Stock Controller</h1><div></div><div></div><div></div><div><p>Howdens are looking to recruit a Stock Controller to join us at our Howden Manufacturing site where you'll play a vital role in managing the stock of materials required to meet production plans.</p><p>In this role, you will be responsible for controlling and recording all stock movements, booking goods inwards, and overseeing goods out. You’ll be accountable for the accuracy of stock levels and will ensure that our inventory control processes support efficient operations.</p><p>This is a hands-on role that requires strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and the ability to work proactively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.</p><p><strong>Pay rate and shift pattern:</strong></p><ul><li>£42,137.68 per annum + shift allowance</li><li>Nights - Monday to Thursday (4pm - 2:30am)</li></ul><p><strong>What will I be doing as a Stock Controller:</strong></p><ul><li>Managing all inventory control activities to ensure accurate stock levels and minimal losses</li><li>Maintaining and updating SKU data to reflect real-time stock status</li><li>Monitoring and reporting on damaged or defective stock movements</li><li>Reacting swiftly and effectively to operational issues that may affect stock availability</li><li>Proactively identifying and addressing factors that impact STR (stock-to-requirement) performance</li></ul><p><strong>What do I need to qualify for the Stock Controller:</strong></p><ul><li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general Office applications</li><li>Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) – SAP knowledge is a plus</li><li>Strong background in inventory control, stock reconciliation, and warehouse operations</li><li>Valid forklift licence and confidence in basic forklift duties (forklift operation is a supporting task, not the core role)</li><li>High attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills</li><li>Effective communication and collaboration across teams</li><li>Proactive, self-motivated, and takes ownership of stock accuracy</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits of working for Howdens:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive salary</li><li>Pension plan with a maximum company contribution of 12%</li><li>25 days holiday + bank holidays with an opportunity to purchase additional days</li><li>Staff discount</li><li>Ongoing support and development</li><li>Daily meal allowance</li><li>Free onsite car parking</li><li>Friendly and supportive environment offering exceptional reward and recognition</li></ul><p><strong>About Howdens:</strong></p><p>Howdens Joinery is the UK’s number one trade kitchen supplier providing thousands of products across kitchens, joinery, and hardware.
