The role involves overseeing the purchase ledger function and providing a professional and efficient service to the Finance and Buying departments.<br>This person will be responsible for the smooth running of the Purchase Ledger team and accountable for maintaining an accurate and timely ledger. You’ll also support biannual stock takes and provide administrative leadership to the Purchase Ledger Co-ordinator, EPOS Manager and Financial Controller (FC) in line with business needs.<br>General duties/key responsibilities include:<br>• Oversee invoice allocation and ensure timely processing of retail and non-retail invoices.<br>• Resolve supplier and purchasing queries, maintaining strong relationships across departments.<br>• Approve and maintain supplier accounts, ensuring accuracy of records and payment terms.<br>• Lead weekly supplier BACS runs and international payments, obtaining approvals and issuing remittances.<br>• Reconcile monthly supplier statements and GRNI reports.<br>• Support audit preparation and year-end financial procedures.<br>• Train staff on Contina (data capture system) and act as superuser.<br>• Manage petty cash and gift card issuance and reconciliation.<br>• Ensure month-end deadlines are met and support continuous improvement of ledger processes.<br>• Coordinate return order processes and credit chasing.<br>• Handle outgoing post and perform other ad hoc administrative duties as required.<br> <br>The successful candidate will have:<br>• Previous experience in purchase ledger and financial administration.<br>• Strong IT skills – particularly Microsoft Excel.<br>• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.<br>• Strong leadership and communication skills.<br>• A flexible, proactive approach and ability to work collaboratively.<br> <br>This is a full-time role working 39.5 hours per week.
