Whatever it is, there is something magical and unmistakeable about each one of them.</p><p>As part of Jellycat’s ambitious growth plans we are looking to appoint Legal Counsel (Privacy &amp; Commercial). The successful candidate role will ensure compliance with our data protection obligation across the entire business (with specific focus on EU, China, USA), including supporting our direct to consumer E-commerce, Marketing, Fan Engagement and People colleagues with all aspects of data privacy. This is a newly created role, data privacy matters will takepriority followed by advising ona broad range of commercial matters. </p><p><strong>You'll be;</strong></p><ul><li>Leading the data privacy function within the global business, ensuring compliance with our data protection obligations including GDPR, CCPA, PIPL and other international privacy obligations.&nbsp;</li><li>Setting strategic and operational plans, including the annual training plan and execute these across all teams in the business.</li><li>Providing actionable commercial advice to ecommerce, marketing, fan engagement and People teams, to identify, assess and mitigate data privacy risks.</li><li>Conducting data protection impact assessments (DPIA’s) and legitimate interest assessments (LIA’s)</li><li>Reviewing and approving all new projects that process customer or employee data.</li><li>Working with the Head of Information Security, enhance our data breach response and incident management processes.</li><li>Managing and supporting responses to allday-to-day privacy queries, including DSARs and any regulatory enquiries.</li><li>Supporting the wider commercial legal team to review, negotiate and complete contracts for the supply of goods and services.</li><li>Managing and coordinating our external privacy advisors within the allocated legal budget.</li></ul><p><strong><strong>You'll have;</strong></strong></p><ul> <li>Fullyqualified lawyer with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.</li> <li>Experience ina law firm and/or the legal department of a consumer focused companywithin the luxury/FMCG/retail sector.</li> <li>Know-how inall data privacy aspects that impact a global direct to consumer retailbusiness.</li> <li>Highlymotivated with a bias for action and able to function independently in ahigh growth and fast paced environment.</li> <li>The ability to actdecisively but sensitively, driving projects to successful conclusions.</li> <li>Management ofoutside counsel and legal spending.</li> <li>Very goodinterpersonal skills and influencing skills; strong, flexible team playerand collaborator that works to meet both personal and organizationgoals. </li> <li>Capability to analyse&nbsp;complex legal and policy issues from a commercial perspective.</li><li>Excellent organization, execution and project management skills.</li></ul><p><br></p></div>
