Technology is at the heart of that journey, and we’re looking for a <strong>Principal Software Engineer</strong>&nbsp;to help shape the platforms that drive our digital future.</p><p>This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role where you’ll influence architecture, guide engineering standards, and deliver enterprise-grade solutions that scale with our ambitions.</p><hr><p><strong>What you’ll be doing</strong></p><p>As our Principal Software Engineer, you’ll be a technical authority across our digital platforms, combining architectural vision with practical delivery. You’ll:</p><ul><li>Lead <strong>end-to-end full-stack delivery</strong>, from backend services and APIs to customer-facing and internal applications</li><li>Shape and evolve <strong>platform and system architecture</strong>, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable and future-ready</li><li>Translate business strategy into <strong>robust technical designs</strong>, balancing innovation with resilience</li><li>Set the standard for <strong>clean code, engineering best practice and quality</strong>&nbsp;across teams</li><li>Drive <strong>modernisation initiatives</strong>, reducing technical debt and improving performance</li><li>Champion <strong>DevOps, CI/CD and automation</strong>, enabling faster, safer releases</li><li>Embed <strong>security, compliance and GDPR-by-design</strong>&nbsp;into everything we build</li><li>Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Architecture and senior stakeholders</li><li>Mentor and influence engineers at all levels, raising the bar for technical excellence</li></ul><hr><p><strong>About you</strong></p><p>You’re a <strong>strategic, hands-on technical leader</strong>&nbsp;who enjoys solving complex problems and influencing direction.
