People are at the heart of our retail concept, and we want to invest in our staff and make the future extraordinary.</p><p>As a result of our expansion plans, and our continued ongoing success, we are seeking a dynamic Management Accountant to be based at our Head Office in Plymouth.</p><p> </p><p><strong>About the Role:</strong></p><p>We are seeking a skilled and proactive Management Accountant to join the finance team of a large, successful retail business headquarters in Plymouth. This role plays a key part in supporting the financial operations of our trading subsidiary in the Republic of Ireland. You’ll work closely with a team of Management Accountants and the wider Finance Team to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, support strategic decision-making, and ensure robust financial control.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><span><ul><li>Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet, and reporting packs, with variance analysis against budget.</li><li>Monitor and forecast working cashflow to support business liquidity.</li><li>Ensure regulatory compliance including VAT, ONS, and Intrastat returns.</li><li>Support the full finance function including Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Expenditure.</li><li>Review and maintain sensitive nominal codes across P&L and Balance Sheet.</li><li>Post journals and assist in budgeting and reforecasting processes.</li><li>Ensure timely and accurate bank reconciliations.</li><li>Oversee supplier and employee payments.</li><li>Assist with fixed asset management and depreciation.</li><li>Partner with key teams across the business to provide financial insight and support.</li><li>Review and challenge monthly accruals.</li><li>Contribute to departmental projects aimed at streamlining processes.</li><li>Support year-end audit preparation and other ad hoc tasks as required.</li></ul></span><p style="margin-left:36.0pt;"> </p><p><strong>Qualifications & Experience:</strong></p><span><ul><li>Proven experience in a commercial finance environment.</li><li>Strong background in preparing management accounts with commentary.</li><li>Experience working with multiple currencies.</li><li>Advanced Excel skills: financial modelling experience is desirable.</li><li>Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.</li><li>Confidence to challenge existing practices and drive improvements.</li></ul></span><p> </p><p><strong>What we offer:</strong></p><span><ul><li>Competitive salary</li><li>Pension</li><li>Long service awards</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Cycle to work scheme</li></ul></span><p> </p><p><strong>Position: </strong>Permanent, Full-time</p><p><strong>Hours:</strong> Monday – Friday, 08:45am – 17:30pm.</p><p><strong>Location: </strong>Plymouth, Devon</p></div><div class="row" style="margin-top: 5vh;"><div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-4 col-sm-offset-4">
