This role specializes in creating and refining patterns for <b>fully fashioned knits</b>, <b>seamless garments</b>, and <b>cut-and-sew jersey</b>, ensuring they align with creative direction and the brand’s high-performance, <b>and luxury fit according to the Global Fit Strategy.</b></p><p></p><p>In close partnership with Design, Creative Directors, and Product Development, this role helps translate conceptual vision into well-balanced, technically sound garments—owning the fit and pattern process from concept to production.</p><div></div><div></div><p><b>About The Role:</b></p><p><b>Pattern Development &amp; Fit Execution</b></p><ul><li>Own the development of fit and size charts for <b>fully fashioned</b> and <b>seamless sweaters</b> (e.g., flat-knit, circular knit) and <b>of first patterns for</b> <b>cut-and-sew jersey</b> (e.g., <b>Hoodies,</b> tees, dresses, layering tops).</li><li>Engineer patterns to reflect fabric properties such as stretch, drape, recovery, compression, and rib behavior.</li><li>Collaborate with Creative Directors and Designers to interpret design sketches and translate them into wearable, production-ready fit.</li><li><b>Collaborate with Director of Global Fit in building fit blocks and block library for jersey products.</b></li></ul><p><b>Product Creation &amp; Collaboration</b></p><ul><li>Attend IRL (in-person) product concept sessions with Design and Product Development to co-develop early style direction.</li><li>Work alongside Product Development to create the first pattern or size charts as part of the corresponding tech pack created by PD.</li><li>Participate in early vendor or atelier hand-offs to ensure the pattern and spec package are aligned for accurate prototyping.</li></ul><p><b>Fit Sessions &amp; Iteration</b></p><ul><li>Lead or attend fit sessions to evaluate fully fashioned, seamless, and jersey garments for silhouette, ease, stretch performance, and appearance on-body.</li><li>Execute pattern corrections and garment refinements based on fit observations. Remake and re-own patterns when substantial changes are required.</li><li>Ensure fit consistency and comfort across sizes and styles, aligned with brand fit blocks and grading standards.</li></ul><p><b>Seamless &amp; Knitwear-Specific Innovation</b></p><ul><li>Work with vendors and product teams to align pattern structure with yarn behavior, gauge, stitch density, and machine <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">capability—especially</span> for seamless or engineered knit styles.</li><li>Understand and optimize construction techniques used in both traditional knitwear and seamless garments (e.g., body mapping, zoned compression, engineered rib transitions).</li><li>Contribute to innovation and problem solving around knit fit performance, durability, and shape retention.</li></ul><p><b>Standards &amp; Documentation</b></p><ul><li>Adhere to Global Fit libraries (POMs, size charts, grade rules) and help ensure technical consistency across knitwear and jersey categories.</li><li>Collaborate with Product Development and vendors to communicate technical fit intent clearly and accurately.</li><li>Support seasonal fit reviews and share knit- and jersey-specific insights with the product creation team.</li></ul><div></div><div></div><p><b>About You:</b></p><p><b>Experience &amp; Education:</b></p><ul><li>5+ years of pattern making or technical design experience in <b>fully fashioned knitwear</b>, <b>seamless knitwear</b>, and <b>cut-and-sew jersey</b>.</li><li>Experience working with Creative Directors, high-end designers, or technical vendors in luxury or premium apparel brands.</li><li>Degree or certification in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, Knitwear Design, or a related technical field.</li><li>Familiarity with knitwear development systems (e.g., Shima Seiki, Stoll) and CAD pattern systems (e.g., Gerber); 3D software experience (e.g., CLO) is a plus.</li></ul><p><b>Technical Expertise:</b></p><ul><li>Deep understanding of knit stitch structures, shaping techniques, gauge behavior, shrinkage, and fabric performance in fully fashioned and seamless garments.</li><li>Proficiency in pattern development for jersey fabrics and managing technical challenges like fabric growth, distortion, and transparency.</li><li>Skilled in interpreting and applying yarn specifications, knit-down samples, and vendor capabilities to pattern design.</li></ul><p><b>Communication &amp; Collaboration:</b></p><ul><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate fit intent to non-technical partners and global vendors.</li><li>Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional partners including Design, PD, and Technical Teams.</li><li>Experience working with global supply chain partners in knitwear or jersey manufacturing is an asset.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Attributes:</b></p><ul><li>Passionate about <b>jersey,</b> luxury knitwear and the technical artistry of stretch-based fit.</li><li>Highly detail-oriented with a precision-focused approach to garment balance, comfort, and silhouette.</li><li>Problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced, iterative development cycles.</li><li>Flexible, collaborative, and energized by innovation in textile and construction technologies.</li></ul><div></div><p><b>Additional Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>Ability to travel occasionally for vendor visits, fittings, or manufacturing support (&lt;5%).</li><li>Must be available for real-time, in-person fit and development meetings as dictated by the seasonal calendar.</li></ul><p><b>What’s in it For You?</b></p><ul><li>A company built on Canadian roots and heritage</li><li>Your work is recognized with a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards Program</li><li>Opportunities for career growth through numerous internal and external programs</li><li>Recognize and be recognized by your peers with our Goose Rewards &amp; ICON Rewards</li><li>Be a part of<span>&nbsp;</span><i>CG Gives</i>.
