As Finance Manager, you will lead the UK finance function in Manchester, overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring accurate reporting and strong financial controls, and providing commercial insight. You will manage and develop a Finance Assistant and work closely with senior leadership and teams across retail, e-commerce, wholesale, and international offices to maintain financial integrity and support strategic growth.</p><p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>The Role</strong></p><ul style="font-weight: 400;"><li>Lead, mentor, and support the Finance Assistant, ensuring effective delivery of daily finance operations.</li><li>Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations across multiple regions and currencies.</li><li>Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and reporting packs for senior leadership.</li><li>Ensure timely compliance with statutory requirements, tax filings, and external audit processes.</li><li>Coordinate with HR and international teams to support global payroll processes.</li><li>Manage stock, store, e-commerce, and wholesale reconciliations to ensure accuracy of trading performance.</li><li>Partner with commercial teams on major initiatives, including new store openings, e-commerce developments, and wholesale expansion.</li><li>Enhance financial policies, procedures, and internal controls across the group.</li><li>Deliver variance analysis and insightful commentary to support senior-level decision-making.</li><li>Act as the primary finance point of contact for the Manchester office, ensuring strong alignment with global teams.</li></ul><p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>About You</strong></p><ul style="font-weight: 400;"><li>Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with post-qualification experience.</li><li>Background in retail, fashion, consumer goods, or similar product-led industries; e-commerce and wholesale exposure beneficial.</li><li>Strong experience in management accounting, financial controls, and reporting.</li><li>Previous experience managing or mentoring junior team members.</li><li>Excellent technical accounting skills with a commercially minded approach.</li><li>Understanding of multi-currency accounting and international operations.</li><li>Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in ERP/finance systems.</li><li>Confident communicator, able to partner effectively with senior leaders and global teams.</li><li>Highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.</li></ul><p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>What's on Offer</strong></p><ul style="font-weight: 400;"><li><strong>Up to £55,000 Salary </strong></li><li><strong>10% Annual Bonus</strong></li><li>25 days holiday, other benefits</li><li>On site - 5 days in Manchester office</li></ul><p style="font-weight: 400;">Zachary Daniels and our client are both equal opportunity employers.
