Whether it's through creating the UK's first compostable coffee pods, our plastic-free packaging or carbon-free shipping - we're on a mission to be the world's most sustainable coffee company.</span></p><p><span>In 2023, we created our charity, the Better Coffee Foundation, to undo the damage done by the global coffee industry - in our first year, we recovered 43 million pods' worth of ocean-bound plastic.</span></p><br><p><span>A bit about the role.</span></p><p><span>This role sits at the core of a fast-scaling omnichannel business with complex, high-volume operations across D2C, B2B wholesale, and retail. With multiple entities, countries, sales channels, and warehouses in play, you’ll be responsible for putting in place the controls, processes, and financial discipline that enable growth at speed.</span></p><p><span>Leading a team of two accounts assistants, you’ll be the central link between finance, manufacturing, operations, marketing, and sales — ensuring accurate, timely, and controlled financial outcomes across the business. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you’ll be empowered to challenge, improve, and embed best-practice processes in a constantly evolving environment. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives on complexity, is motivated by progression, and wants to leave their mark on a scaling business.</span></p><p><span>Role Responsibilities</span></p><ul><li><p><span>Oversee and control the central finance system (CIN7 + Xero), end-to-end sales, inventory, and supply chain processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and seamless integration into Xero.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Design and implement financial controls – work with the financial controller to implement processes that safeguard accuracy across sales, purchases, manufacturing, and fulfilment transactions.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Manage and develop a high-performing team – line manage and upskill two accounts assistants, reviewing outputs and ensuring the accuracy of bills of materials, product assemblies, and reconciliations.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Drive accurate month-end close – oversee inventory reconciliations, margin analysis, and variance reporting, turning data into insight for commercial teams.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strengthen sales & revenue processes – manage invoicing, reconciliations, deferred/accrued income, credit control, and customer master data accuracy.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Deliver management accounts across multiple entities, oversee the full process, reviewing and approving journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reporting packs.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Be the finance partner to the business – work cross-functionally with operations, manufacturing, and commercial teams to improve controls, efficiency, and profitability.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Champion process improvement – continually identify, propose, and embed smarter ways of working that scale with the business as new products, markets, and sales channels launch.</span></p></li></ul><br><p><span>You’ll have.</span></p><ul><li><p><span>Proven accounting background – a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is desirable, or equivalent hands-on experience in a finance management role.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Complexity ready – proven experience working with multi-entity supply chains and inventory management systems is essential.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Team management – experience managing, coaching, or developing junior colleagues, with a collaborative and supportive style.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Organised and detail-driven – highly structured, with the ability to keep control of multiple moving parts while maintaining accuracy.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Continuous improver – a natural problem-solver with a passion for strengthening controls and finding smarter, more efficient ways of working.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Influential communicator – able to build trust across teams, explain financial concepts clearly, and present insights in both written and numerical form.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Self-starter and team player – confident taking initiative, while also working effectively as part of a wider cross-functional team.</span><span><br><br></span></p></li></ul><p><span>Bonus if you have… </span></p><ul><li><p><span>Knowledge of Xero and CIN7 will be an asset but not required</span></p></li><li><p><span>A love for coffee….</span></p></li></ul><br><p><span>Diversity and Inclusion. </span></p><p><span>Grind is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company.
