Your responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Entering agency driver shifts onto the driver log and raising purchase orders for all agencies used.</li><li>Generate weekly reports on costs and agency shift usage.</li><li>Managing timesheets, wage queries, sickness, absence, and holiday requests for transport staff.</li><li>Supporting resource planning for the transport team.</li><li>Ordering uniforms, PPE, vehicle equipment, stationery, and cleaning supplies.</li><li>Liaising with suppliers, negotiating prices, and raising purchase orders.</li><li>Handling finance-related tasks such as recharges, scrap pallet data, and vendor requests.</li><li>Maintaining accurate driver records, including licence checks and toll tag accounts.</li><li>Preparing European legislative paperwork for stock movements to European depots.</li><li>Debriefing drivers and ensuring salary hours and vehicle data are correctly recorded</li><li>Responding to telephone queries from drivers, agencies, depots, and suppliers.</li><li>This is a varied role that requires excellent organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to the needs of the business.</li></ul><p><strong>What Do You Need to Qualify for the Transport Administrator Role:</strong></p><p>Essential Skills and Experience:</p><ul><li>Strong communication skills – able to liaise confidently with internal teams and external partners.</li><li>Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.</li><li>IT literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office and data entry.</li><li>Outstanding attention to detail when producing reports and logging data.</li><li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.</li></ul><p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p><ul><li>Previous experience in a transport, logistics, or administrative role.</li><li>Knowledge of SAP or similar systems.</li><li>Understanding of transport compliance and legislation.</li></ul><p><strong>What can we offer you as a Transport Administrator:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive Salary + Bonus</li><li>Pension Plan with a maximum company contribution of 12%</li><li>25 days holiday + bank holidays</li><li>Staff discount</li><li>Free lunch at the onsite canteen</li><li>Ongoing support and development</li><li>Friendly and supportive environment offering exceptional reward and recognition</li></ul><p><strong>About Us:</strong></p><p>Howdens Joinery is the UK’s number one trade kitchen supplier, providing thousands of products across kitchens, joinery, and hardware.&nbsp; We have over 900 depots throughout the UK and Europe, making us the first choice for more than 460,000 loyal trade professionals.
