<h2>About the role</h2><p>We have a fantastic opportunity to join our&nbsp;Distribution Centre in Haydock as a Class 1 driver. This NEW opportunity will involve single deliveries to our cash and carry sites, and multi drop deliveries to our Retail Partners.</p><ul><li>45Hrs over 5 Days (any 5 from 7 Days)</li><li>Part Time Hours available if preferred</li><li>Flexible Start times, to be agreed at Interview Stage</li><li>Weekend working will form part of shift pattern (Weekend Premium applied)</li></ul><p><br></p><h2>Main Responsibilities</h2><p>Delivering palletised and caged goods to branches and/or depots within the Booker network, and to our retail partner customers.</p><p>Tipping and loading vehicles as necessary, including manual handling</p><p>Collection of backloads from 3rd&nbsp;party suppliers</p><p>Normal daily delivery workload is 1 / 2 runs, mostly single drop with occasional 2nd drop when delivering to our cash and carry sites.</p><p>Multi drop deliveries when delivering to our retail partners &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>Drive &amp; operate Class 2 vehicles when required.&nbsp;</p><p>Effective verbal and written communication with site and external customers</p><p>Knowledge of Drivers Hours and WTD, ensuring legality at all times.&nbsp;</p><p>Keeping our fleet clean &amp; tidy, damage free and reporting of all vehicle defects</p><h2>You will need</h2><p>You must hold a valid C+E Licence with experience preferred&nbsp;</p><p>All applicants must be CPC qualified to be considered for this role</p><p>Applicants will not be considered if they have more than 6 points on their licence,&nbsp;'Careless Driving', prosecution for mobile phone use or drink driving or have failed to comply with 'Construction of Use'.</p><p>Experience of digital tachograph</p><p>Geographical knowledge</p><p>Operation of Tail Lifts &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; (Desired but training can be given)</p><p>Operation of refrigerated units &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; (Desired but training can be given) &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><h2>What's in it for you</h2><p>At Booker, along with being a great place to work and giving you an opportunity to get on in your career, we also offer the following fantastic package of benefits:</p><ul><li>A Booker colleague card with 10% off purchases at Booker and double discount events up to three times a year.</li><li>After 3 months service, a Tesco colleague discount card with 10% increasing to 15% off most purchases at Tesco for a 4 day period after every four-weekly pay day, ie. thirteen times a year.
