<h2>About the role</h2><p>Reporting to a Commercial Finance Manager, you will be responsible in supporting the Commercial Finance team in proactivily managing income and driving growth in a category area. &nbsp;This role involves working closely with the Category Managers and Finance teams to ensure good understanding of both front and back income, reviewing all commercial income areas of the business.&nbsp;</p><h2>Main Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Ensuring full understanding of margin performance, promotional and margin investments. &nbsp;</li><li>Accuracy of all Commercial Income entries through management reporting.</li><li>Dealing with supplier queries in respect invoicing, ensuring payment cycles and cash flow opportunities are achieved.</li><li>Providing support to the Commercial Finance Manager in producing periodic performance updates to the Product teams.&nbsp;</li><li>Undertaking variance analysis on key initiatives and income streams.</li><li>I am responsible for providing the Category teams with status updates on terms agreements.</li><li>Supporting the Commercial Analysts in Margin reviews, Terms evaluations , giving recommendations to Category Managers to grow cash profit.</li><li>Support Project based work where required.</li><li>Fully support and assist the wider finance team in ensure control on processes.</li></ul><h2>You will need</h2><ul><li><p>Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks, spot opportunities, and deliver commercial insight</p></li><li><p>A proactive mindset with a focus on improving cash profit and commercial performance</p></li><li><p>A strong understanding of margin performance, commercial income, and supplier terms</p></li><li><p>Experience in managing or supporting financial reporting, including accuracy in accruals and entries</p></li><li><p>Confidence in dealing with supplier queries and ensuring timely resolution to support cash flow</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly when working with Category Managers and wider finance teams</p></li><li><p>Ability to support and influence decision-making through variance analysis and performance reporting</p></li><li><p>Commitment to high standards of documentation, compliance, and adherence to GSCOP and audit requirements</p></li><li><p>A collaborative approach to supporting project work and continuous process improvement</p></li><li><p>A customer-focused attitude, delivering accurate work on time without compromising service quality</p></li></ul><h2>What's in it for you</h2><p>At Booker, along with being a great place to work and giving you an opportunity to get on in your career, we also offer the following fantastic package of benefits:</p><ul><li>A Booker colleague card with 10% off purchases at Booker and double discount events up to three times a year.</li><li>After 3 months service, a Tesco colleague discount card with 10% increasing to 15% off most purchases at Tesco for a 4 day period after every four-weekly pay day, ie. thirteen times a year.
