<p>White Stuff was established in 1985 through a simple idea. This idea grew and now we have shops and concessions in the UK and internationally, selling women’s and men’s clothing as well as beautiful accessories and homeware. We encourage entrepreneurial ideas and accountability at all levels. </p><p><strong>Who you are:</strong></p><p>As the Senior Designer for Knitwear &amp; Jersey, you will lead the creative direction and execution of the category, delivering standout, trend-driven collections that align with the brand’s aesthetic and commercial goals. A strong creative yet commercial &amp; inspirational Senior Designer who is an innovative creative leader that can find the right balance between creativity with a sense of humour in the product handwriting. Blending deep technical knowledge with trend awareness, you’ll craft innovative and cohesive ranges that captivate our customer. You’ll inspire and guide a small team, working closely with cross-functional partners to ensure a seamless balance of creativity, quality, and commercial success that are inspirational and unique, that surprise and delight our customer.</p><p><strong>Primary objective of the job:</strong></p><p>You will drive the knitwear and jersey product development in tandem with the wider design and buying team, identifying relevant trends &amp; new yarns, fabrics and silhouettes delivering innovation &amp; driving growth to meet business KPI’s. Create knit and jersey designs that offer newness, choice &amp; a cohesive handwriting throughout the seasons so that White Stuff stands out from the crowd, this is imperative to make the brand look &amp; feel different &amp; capture new customers in the UK &amp; international markets.</p><p><strong>What you’ll be doing</strong></p><ul> <li>Own anddrivethe end-to-end design process for Knitwear &amp;Jersey—from initial concept to sealed sample—adhering to the critical pathand seasonal timelines.</li> <li>Create directional moodboards that define seasonal trends, colour palettes, yarns, andsilhouettes, ensuring a strong and relevant point of view.</li> <li>Collaborate with theHead of Design to develop cohesive, outfitting-led collections thatcomplement the broader product offer with that White Stuff twist. </li> <li>Partner with otherSenior Designers to ensure outfitting across categories is clear,compelling, and customer-centric.</li> <li>Source and developyarns and fabrics, designing within fabric groups to maximize impact andcommercial viability.</li> <li>Produce CADs andcomprehensive tech packs that clearly communicate designintent and construction details. Fully CAD literate within Photoshop,Illustrator &amp; PowerPoint</li> <li>Manage and mentor asmall team (2 direct reports), providing creative leadership, cleardirection, and ongoing development.</li> <li>Liaise with far eastsuppliers to ensure quality execution, timely development, and productionalignment.</li> <li>Oversee protodevelopment, ensuring first samples meet expectations in fit,construction, and finish, in collaboration with Buying and Technicalteams.</li> <li>Analyze performancedata—including sales, returns, and customer feedback—to inform designdirection and improve future ranges.</li> <li>Work closely with theBuying team to maintain strong supplier relationships and managedevelopment milestones.</li> <li>Apply cost-effectivedesign strategies to deliver high-impact product while meeting margintargets.</li> <li>Support seasonalplanning with research, trend analysis, colour palettes, and conceptpresentations.</li> <li>Be an active presencein the studio, fostering collaboration and team momentum.</li> <li>Strategical thinkingand be to stand back from the day-to-day issues to see&amp; act on the bigger picture </li> <li>Excellent team playerwho leads by example to wider team &amp; division &amp; be seen as a brandambassador.</li> <li>Very competentcommunication, influencing, negotiation skills, good working ethics &amp;able to work with peers equally in managing up/down </li> <li>Identifies improvementsin existing ways of working to achieve all KPI’s, communicates thisclearly to the team </li> <li>Strong energized &amp;engaging presentation skills showing a positive/pro-active approach </li></ul><p><strong>What you’ll need:</strong></p><ul> <li>Significant experience in fashiondesign, with a strong focus on Knitwear and Jersey.</li> <li>Deep technical knowledge of yarns,construction methods, and fabric development.</li> <li>A proven ability to create designsthat are both creatively exciting and commercially successful.</li> <li>Strong leadership skills, with theability to guide and inspire a design team.</li> <li>A sharp eye for detail and a strongsense of styling and outfitting across categories.</li> <li>Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator andPhotoshop, with strong CAD and technical drawing skills.</li> <li>A keen understanding of fashiontrends, market shifts, and customer insights.</li> <li>Excellent relationship-building andcommunication skills, with the ability to influence internal and externalstakeholders.</li> <li>Highly organized, proactive, andsolution-focused, with a drive for excellence.</li></ul><p><strong>What we will offer you:</strong></p><p>You will be entitled to an array of great benefits, some of which include:</p><p>Hybrid working</p><p>Annual bonus opportunity</p><p>Up to 25 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays</p><p>2 extra (paid!) days off per year to volunteer in the local community</p><p>50% discount </p><p>Subsidised BUPA Dental Insurance</p><p>Healthcare cash plan and Life Assurance</p><p>Interest free season ticket loan</p><p>Pension Contribution</p><p><em>We are committed to creating an environment where we can all be proud to work and be ourselves.Part of this commitment is being an equal opportunity employer.
