<dt class="rm-fieldTitle">Description</dt><dd class="rm-fieldData"><p><span style="color: #000000;">My client is a leading FMCG manufacturing organisation with an impressive history and a fantastic reputation within the industries they serve. Due to a range of innovative developments and investment, they are going through an extensive period of growth. This includes new state-of-the-art manufacturing assets.</span></p><p><span style="color: #000000;">They are now looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their site on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be tasked with supporting the engineering team in reaching a higher level of standard.</span></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment as defined by our PPM schedule to the highest standard</li><li>Work as part of a mechanical/electrical team, to keep our plant availability in line with operational commitments</li><li>Assist with machine improvement projects </li><li>Monitor, fault find, maintain and repair a wide variety of equipment including pumps, gearboxes, and specialist treatment process machinery</li><li>Apply first level maintenance activities to all onsite assets</li><li>Large plant complex repairs</li><li>Using Breathing Apparatus and working in confined spaces if required (Training will be provided if required)</li><li>Development of new skills both in and outside of your core discipline</li><li>Working on fixed plant on Water and Waste Water Treatment sites to fault find, repair and maintain a wide variety of equipment including pumps, gearboxes, and specialist treatment process machinery. </li><li>Work with other disciplines in a workshop team</li><li>Follow the business and departmental rules associated with workflow and management</li><li>An awareness of health and safety and works in a manner that keeps you and those around you safe</li><li>Use our computerised maintenance management system to organise workload and work order response</li></ul><p><strong>Education & Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>All applicants should hold City & Guilds or similar vocational qualifications and have completed an apprenticeship or recognised training in mechanical discipline </li><li>Relevant experience in a production / processing or manufacturing facility would be beneficial</li><li>Well-developed interpersonal skills, ability to work in teams, to interact with colleagues and managers alike</li><li>Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to take and respond to direction as required</li></ul><div><span style="font-family: Montserrat, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"> </span></div><div><span style="font-family: Montserrat, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">This is a Monday - Friday dayshift position </span></div></dd>
