<h3 class="theme-panel-header text-2xl pb-6 theme-vacancy-section-title">About the role</h3><p>As an Assistant Designer on our Homeware team, you will support in designing and developing comprehensive ranges in conjunction with the Buyers and wider trading teams, ensuring that the product and ranges reflect the current market and Matalan's customers.&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Undertake Market research to identify what the latest trends, colours and fabrics are and Matalan's competitors ranges.&nbsp;</li><li>Provide advice and insight on intial samples, ensuring that the manufactured garments match initial design specifications.&nbsp;</li><li>Liaise with the Buyers on costs/ margins to ensure that the range can realistically be bought with-in the given budget.&nbsp;</li><li>Undertake factory visits and competitive shopping trips in the UK, USA and Far East with full reports and feedback to the Buying and Design teams.&nbsp;</li><li>Occasionally attend fit meetings to ensure the look, fit, shape and quality of each garment is correct.
